ROPE RESCUE

HM Coastguard have specialist highly trained rope rescue technicians within dedicated search & rescue teams. Our rescue vehicle is kitted to allow us to attend to any incident be it on cliffs or inland in urban environments at a moments notice with safety and professionalism being paramount.

To be a rope rescue technician you must be highly trained and certified to carry out the task as well as having a full first aid certificate. Technicians train on a continual basis for any eventuality so we can set up quickly, descend to the casualty, stabilise them, administer first aid and either lower or raise them to a safe place.

The versatility of our equipment and technicians allows us to carry out rope rescues in almost any situation including cliffs, gorges, steep slopes, holds of boats, collapsed roads, deep sided reservoirs etc. after considering a full risk assessment of the situation.
